Logical Reasoning

Test 129, Section 2, Q17 — Brick Wall Review

Test 129, Section 2, Q24 — Great poems

Test 128, Section 3, Q23 — Raising taxes

Highlights

In tonight’s class, we dismantled several so-called “Level 5” questions with ease—often before even reading the question. By reading critically and precisely, we spotted the author’s implied connection in a Weaken question and broke the argument by shattering its hidden assumption. In a Necessary Assumption question, we predicted the answer before even seeing the question by exposing the author’s unstated connection. In a Parallel Flaw question, we turned the flawed reasoning into a general version, making it easy to spot the matching answer. The key to mastering tough questions is to remove their power by truly understanding the passage and making strong, confident predictions.
