Syllabus

You’re right on time. Get your life together with Nathan in preparation for law school applications this September. Learn what to do, as well as when and how to do it, to play the admissions game as effectively as possible. Cross one easy item off your list right here, right now. Connect with other Demon students who are going through this process with you. Class will end with a Q&A period, so come with questions!

We will cover the following checklist:

  • LSAT & GPA (transcripts)
  • Letters of recommendation
  • Personal statement
  • Resume
  • Optional essays (diversity, why X), addenda (character & fitness, grades, etc.)

…And go over some action steps you can take right now:

  1. Apply for LSAC fee waiver
  2. Sign up for Credential Assembly Service (CAS)
  3. Use CAS to request transcripts
  4. Reach out to potential recommenders (2-5)
  5. Use CAS to request recommendations (2-3)
  6. Stay off Reddit

…And discuss things you’ll have to think about later in the cycle:

  • Make a list of the 10-30 schools you want to apply to and what they require. Go to www.LSATDemon.com/scholarships
  • Fee waiver requests
  • Draft your personal statement
  • Edit, edit, edit your personal statement
  • Draft/edit your diversity statement, if applicable
  • Draft/edit your GPA addendum, if applicable
  • Draft/edit additional supplementary essays, if applicable
  • Update your resume
  • Visit schools
  • Prepare for interviews (if any)
  • FAFSA
  • Get ready to negotiate
