Highlights

"Treat LR like RC"

First, we tackled a humanities passage about Zora Neale Hurston's Their Eyes Were Watching God. We asked questions as we read to help clarify what we'd learned, what potentially useful information the author had not yet shared, and what the author's main point was. After discussing a few of the more difficult questions, Erik shared some thoughts on how an LR passage—like an RC passage—is just an answer key to a "must be true" question, no matter the question type. We then applied this mentality to the two LR passages, one of which perfectly demonstrated how carefully reading every single word can turn a level 5 question into a cakewalk.
