I started off class by discussing the five answer choices on Logical Reasoning. Only one of these can be correct; there is no argument that can be made for any of the wrong answers. I wanted the students to consider the test from the test maker's perspective. You are a company administering a test to future law school students. These students are going to be incredibly argumentative. Therefore, you need to have an answer choice that is 100% correct and four answer choices that are 100% incorrect, often for multiple reasons. I encouraged the students to keep this in mind while they went through the answer choices. We stayed detail-oriented as we approached each passage and broke down its constituent parts.
Stewart used to be inconsistent with Logical Reasoning. But once he slowed down and learned to make predictions, he made LR his easiest section and took his score from the 150s to the 170s.
Let’s uncover the secret sauce of LR. We’ll go over questions of various difficulties and unscramble the LSAT’s ingredients of evidence, conclusion, and answer choices. It’s a recipe for success!
