This class will offer a primer on basic Econ/Finance 101 topics and whatever else Nathan wants to lecture on, including: 

  • Supply, demand, and price sensitivity
  • Revenue, costs, profit, and market share
  • Stocks, bonds, and mutual funds
  • Dividends, interest, and capital appreciation
  • Qualified accounts (IRAs and 401ks) and why they’re good
  • Tax avoidance (good) vs. tax evasion (bad)
  • Inflation, why it’s bad, and how the government attempts to control it
  • How banks work and why Silicon Valley Bank didn’t
  • Definitions

This Class

Lawyers don’t need to be accountants, but they do need basic financial and economic literacy. Even the LSAT requires some extremely basic financial knowledge (profit = revenue - costs, for example.)
