Test 87, Game 1 — Expert witnesses
Test 87, Game 3 — Gallery showings
Note: Test 87 has been set aside for Timed Sections.
Highlights
We started off the class by discussing Malcolm Gladwell’s nonsense about the LSAT. I pointed them to Ben and Nate's discussion about how wrong Gladwell is. Also, the LSAT prepares you (in part) for law school.
Levi walked us through Test 87, Game 1 — Expert witnesses, where we made two webs based on the last rule (check out the Web Games Bootcamp!) that destroys the game.
Cinthia took the lead on Test 87, Game 2 — TV station, and we talked about how the game isn’t a nice tidy web because the rules don’t link together. Instead, we made worlds off of the block, because it does a lot in all the worlds. Three worlds solved the game.
Pierson walked us through Test 87, Game 3 — Gallery showings, where we first made worlds based on I first or not, then where H could go. Eliminating H from the game allows you to know all the places S can go. Eliminating S then crushed the game. Also, the rule sub was completely predictable (check out the Rule Substitution Bootcamp).
Matt took the lead on Test 87, Game 4 — Charity. Matt split into nine total worlds, first on N, then on P, eliminating them from the game. After that, any open three-slot took the remaining three variables. And any remaining two-slot must have L. That crushed the game.
A great LSAT score got Matt many full-ride offers, and he's helped countless others achieve the same. After graduating law school debt-free, he scored 99th percentile on the bar exam and clerked on his state's Supreme Court. He now practices criminal law.
LSAT Journey: 152 → 171
We’re here to master an entire section of logic games. You’ll be given time to work on the game setup and then Matt will cover that particular game. Rinse and repeat to cover all 4 games.
