Week 6: On RC, They’re Must Be Trues
Reading Comprehension
Test 140, Passage 3 — Exceptional performers
Test 141, Passage 2 — Cameron’s pictures
Highlights
In this installment of Demon Foundations, Kaley covered why all Reading Comprehension LSAT questions are really just Must Be Trues. Having this mentality helps us place all of our efforts on understanding the passage completely--no more skipping over sentences we don’t understand! Kaley demonstrated key RC tactics such as pausing to summarize, looking for the author’s attitude toward the subject, and determining definitions of unknown words through context clues. By using these foundational skills, students were able to make loose predictions for every question and discern correct answer choices by asking themselves, “But did the passage say this?”
Kaley believes that the writers of the LSAT don't want you to know how easy it can be. By streamlining the way that you approach the questions, you'll be on your way to free law school in no time. As a science and math nerd, if Kaley can conquer tricky RC passages, you can, too.
