Highlights
In today's class, Chris (subbing for Nathan) dissected flawed arguments with humor and precision.
As he tackled Logical Reasoning questions, including Parallel (Flaw) and Weaken types, Chris laughed at bad arguments, showing students how to find weaknesses in passages and form effective predictions from those criticisms. Chris also explained the distinction between closed and open questions and broke down the LSAT’s most common flaw—confusing necessary and sufficient conditions—in common sense terms.
As he methodically moved through a Reading Comprehension passage, Chris emphasized the importance of taking small bites and chewing our food adequately as we read. Doing this can help to improve our accuracy and efficiency in moving through questions. Chris also encouraged students to set a high bar for answer choices to clear. After all, we are much more likely to get into trouble when we concoct arguments in favor of wrong answer choices than when we scrutinize correct answer choices
Chris used to speed through the LSAT before the Demon taught him to slow down and enjoy the ride. He now craves the satisfaction of feeling the correct answers snap into place in Logical Reasoning and Reading Comprehension.
