Highlights

In today’s class, we focused on how solid predictions—based on the facts in the passage—are the key to solving questions confidently. By continually asking ourselves what can be proven, we identified key issues in the passage that made predicting easier. We also discussed the importance of staying discerning when reviewing answer choices. A common trap is trying to force wrong answers to fit our predictions. To avoid this, we practiced plugging specific details from the passage into vague or complex answer choices to make them clearer and ensure our understanding stayed within the scope of what an answer explicitly said. This helped us quickly see whether an answer truly matched our prediction. When our reading is precise and focused on what’s provable, strong predictions come naturally, and answering the question becomes much easier.
